Today in particular, as we are constantly busy consuming online via a screen, do we actually still perceive what is playing out directly in front of us?\u201d An American artist with Bolivian roots, Donna Huanca works with a variety of media such as painting, video, sculpture and installation.<br \/>\nFor her exhibition at the Lower Belvedere, Huanca developed a concept whereby visitors are taken on a journey from light to dark as they go from room to room. The actors in the performances, whom Huanca refers to as \u201cmodels,\u201d are only partly clothed in paint or textile fragments. They are present in the exhibition spaces throughout the entire duration of the exhibition, but make no contact with visitors. This results in an almost unpleasant tension that develops from the situation of the live event. Performance forms the core of Huanca\u2019s creativity\u2014all her other pieces are based on her performance works and capture these ephemeral acts in objects, paintings and videos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eMir ist es wichtig, dem Publikum vor Ort ein einzigartiges Erlebnis zu bieten, das sich nicht in einem Foto festhalten l\u00e4sst. Gerade heute, wo wir st\u00e4ndig damit besch\u00e4ftigt sind, online \u00fcber einen Bildschirm zu konsumieren \u2013 nehmen wir tats\u00e4chlich noch wahr, was sich direkt vor uns abspielt?\u201c Die amerikanische K\u00fcnstlerin bolivianischer Herkunft Donna Huanca arbeitet mit einer Vielfalt an Medien wie Malerei, Video, Skulptur sowie Installation.<br \/>\nF\u00fcr ihre Ausstellung im Unteren Belvedere entwickelte Huanca ein Konzept, nach dem sich BesucherInnen von Raum zu Raum auf eine Reise vom Hellen ins Dunkel begeben. Die AkteurInnen der Performances, die Huanca \u201eModelle\u201c nennt, sind nur teilweise mit Farbe oder Textilfragmenten bekleidet. Sie sind \u00fcber die ganze Dauer der Ausstellung in den Ausstellungsr\u00e4umen pr\u00e4sent, nehmen jedoch keinen Kontakt zu den BesucherInnen auf. Dadurch baut sich eine Spannung auf, die aus der Situation der Live-Veranstaltung entsteht.
