Form\u00e9e notamment \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole Mudra de Bruxelles, Catherine Diverr\u00e8s pratique les techniques de Jos\u00e9 Lim\u00f3n, de Merce Cunningham et d\u2019Alwin Nikolais avant de rejoindre Dominique Bagouet \u00e0 Montpellier. Sa rencontre avec Kazuo Ohno, grande figure du but\u00f4 japonais, amorce sa d\u00e9marche chor\u00e9graphique : avec Bernardo Montet, Catherine Diverr\u00e8s obtient une r\u00e9sidence d\u2019\u00e9tude au Japon o\u00f9 ils inventent leur propre langage et cr\u00e9ent, en 1983, leur premier duo, Instance. \u00c0 leur retour, ils fondent le Studio DM et codirigent \u00e0 partir de 1994 le Centre chor\u00e9graphique national de Rennes et de Bretagne, dont Catherine Diverr\u00e8s assure seule la direction de 1998 \u00e0 juin 2008. Depuis, elle a cr\u00e9\u00e9 une nouvelle compagnie, l\u2019Association D\u2019Octobre, avec laquelle elle poursuit son travail de cr\u00e9ation, de diffusion et de transmission.<\/p>\n

Ce livre rend compte de son cheminement au gr\u00e9 des pi\u00e8ces et du temps. Photographies, \u00e9crits et entretiens men\u00e9s avec la chor\u00e9graphe ou avec ses collaborateurs musiciens et danseurs accompagnent l\u2019analyse d\u2019Ir\u00e8ne Filiberti. S\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s dans les archives de Catherine Diverr\u00e8s, ces documents situent les \u0153uvres et les projets dans leur contexte.
\nUn ab\u00e9c\u00e9daire rassemble notamment des notes, des propos et des textes de la chor\u00e9graphe.<\/p>\n

Enfin, le projet chor\u00e9graphique Cantieri<\/em>, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 en Sicile, est retrac\u00e9 par Claudia Palazzolo.
