Encounter #33 – Charlotte Imbault

Tuesday January 27 janvier at 7p.m.
« On Decolonial Ground » – Audio documentary based on Betty Tchomanga’s Histoire(s) décoloniales (Decolonial Histories)
Collective listening session + discussion

with Charlotte Imbault, author, critic, sound artist.

To echo and extend the ideas explored in Histoire(s) décoloniales – Betty Tchomanga’s choreographic series – programmed as part of Pouce festival! This year (#Dalila) and last year (#Emma, #Folly), Books on the Move invites Charlotte Imbault to share her audio documentary with us.

“En terrain décolonial” (On Decolonial Ground), conceived as the audio extension of Histoire(s) décoloniales (Decolonial Histories), introduces a multitude of voices—those of artists, teenagers, and teachers—recorded over the course of a year in various middle and high schools across France.
It examines art as a vehicle for education and empowerment. The personal accounts are interwoven with writings by authors bell hooks and Léonora Miano, and researcher Malcom Ferdinand. Connections are woven between artistic and educational discourse to examine what schools can achieve and what art makes possible.
The listening session will be followed by a discussion with Charlotte Imbault.

In collaboration with Manufacture CDCN, which is programming Histoire(s) Décoloniales #Dalila, on Monday January 26 at 7 p.m. at the Maison des arts at Bordeaux Montaigne University.

at Books on the move – 43 rue des Douves, 33800 Bordeaux.
