Writing residency – Enora Rivière

October 27 to November 12
November 19 – 30
Villa Valmont – Lormont, near Bordeaux
Writing residency with Enora Rivière
Books on the Move has a long-standing commitment to authors, publishers and artists. Last year Books on the Move launched its very first writing residency for a choreographic artist and invited Volmir Cordeiro.
This year, the residency, still in collaboration with Villa Valmont, welcomes Enora Rivière, dancer, choreographer, author and audio describer.
Enora Rivière’s work is as much literary as it is choreographic. After writing « Ob.scène, récit fictif d’une vie de danseur » (published by the Centre national de la danse, 2015) et « Moteurs – un sacre » (also published by the CN D, 2024), she embarks on a new writing project « Les doigts invisibles » in relation to her piece « Manifestement ».
« My writings attempt to share with a wide audience what moves dancers, what the artworks demand, and what it means to choose dance as a profession. They seek to create through words other possible traces, other possible lives for dance movement”.
The residency also includes an outreach program led by Books on the Move and the artist. This year, the program will focus on audio description for dance and will invite a group of blind and visually impaired people from the organisation UNADEV (National union for blind and visually impaired people) in Bordeaux. They will be invited at different moments of Enora’s residency.
The residency will start by a talk/reading session at Books on the Move’s.
Tuesday October 28 – 7p.m.
