It often starts with a book order via our online shop, followed by an actual encounter on one of Books on the Move’s stands. It develops into conversations and connections around those diverse sublime ways of searching in movement and in writing…
We first invited Myriam Suchet during the Language and Movement Symposium for the presentation of her kit de désapprentissage de « la langue » . It is with great delight that we invite her once again for a conversation around her new project Unlanding-net for searching.

“How to keep your mind active so that to think outside the box and get this sudden feeling “this is it”?
How to let each thought dance its on way, venturing into the unknown?
We can’t force it, or even wish for those moments of grace: we can simply encourage it.
That is precisely the role of the Unlanding-net for searching: we shake it, very gently, like a strange dream catcher that invites it to come.
In its paper version, the Unlanding-net contains 28 knitted booklets made of 22 pages and 2 leporellos. To create it, I was inspired by 13 mind-openers.

Myriam Suchet searches, and often gets lost, in particular at the Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3, where she has been in charge of the Centre for Quebec Studies since its inception in 2012; and even more willingly outside institutions, in open air places blown by the wind. Her journey in research-action-creation undisciplined itself along the way between France and Montréal. She has published with the édition du commun (Rennes) a series of research booklets entitled Traduire du français aux français, designed as a language unlearning kit, in collaboration with Alice Ferré and Elise Gabriel (Les Tables des matières), and Pierre Tandille. She also set up the website enfrancaisaupluriel.fr with Figures libres. Her latest publication, Sismographies du manque. Carnets 2019-2024, was published in 2025 by Tango Giraffe, in the bilingual collection “Trans”. For an overview of the Unlanding-net for searching, go over here
